Volleyball is the world's most popular participation sport after football, played by more than 800 million people in 230 countries, while Beach Volleyball is one of the top three most popular Olympic sports along with athletics and swimming.

The European Championship Tour, which we brought to the UK, came with 100 hours of TV coverage across more than 180 countries. Not surprising really - how many other sports offer super-fit athletes competing in a huge, sun drenched beach party!

Research shows the audience to be a key market sector - mobile, affluent, fashion conscious, above average education, active lifestyle and equal Male/Female aged 16 to 34. Top players are typically 20 to 40 years old, extremely fit and exceptionally skilled, while countless thousands of beach lovers of all ages enjoy beach volleyball as a fun leisure activity. BVUK's strategy places sponsors directly in this valuable target market.

Awareness of beach volleyball is growing fast in the UK as we move towards the 2012 London Olympics when it takes centre stage on Horse Guards Parade.
